That’s interesting Ed – I didn’t know about the money tree. But why is it called the money tree? In looking it up briefly the roasted seeds can be ground to make a hot drink similar to hot chocolate – cool stuff. So the Ice Cream Bean tree and the French Peanut tree (money tree) would make a nice pair.

The Money tree is called where it grows as a french Guianna peanut tree –look it up . One has a red flower and the other has a red flower. The one I had growing but was killed by the 09 Freeze

How fascinating. It would be absolutely great to discover a real ice cream tree!

Saving these endangered environments is of paramount importance to us all. The loss of these forests is something we should all be alarmed about. We are all much the poorer when these animals and plants are lost forever. So many of our advances in medicine and other areas has come from copying nature – we can’t copy what we no longer have.
